September 22nd is the day of presentation of the “Rubi Antiqua” project.
At 10.30 a.m. at the multimedia hall of the Swabian Castle there will be the first bilateral Italian-French meeting that will illustrate the initiative.
The project includes a series of research activities about the history and archaeology of Ruvo di Puglia, in particular about the birth, in the XIX century, of several collections of antiquities having priceless value. Among the purposes of the project the relaunch of the international interest on the historic and archaeological heritage of Ruvo di Puglia and more in general on the whole Apulian territory.
During the press conference there has been the confirmation of the presence of the President of Region Apulia Nichi Vendola, of the councillor to Mediterranean, Culture and Tourism of Region Apulia Silvia Godelli, of the mayor of Ruvo di Puglia Vito Nicola Ottombrini, of the del Chancellor of the University of Bari Antonio Felice Uricchio and of the superintendent for the archaeological heritage of Apulia Luigi La Rocca.
Annamaria Lorusso, director of the Swabian Castle, will introduce this first bilateral meeting among the French and Italian partners of the project (Mairie de Paris and Region Apulia) coordinated by the Barese archaeologist Daniela Ventrelli of the Parisian department ANHIMA UMR 8210.
On behalf of the French delegation, there will be the speeches of: François de Polignac (Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes), Martine Denoyelle (Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art) and Paulette Le Pelletier Hornby (Petit Palais).
